What to Expect from Parliament in the First Quarter of 2019


52 Bills shall be presented at the First Meeting of the Third Session of the Seventh Parliament. Notable among them are the Occupational Safety and Health Bill (2019), National Research Fund Bill (2019), Education Regulators Bill (2019), Consumer Protection Bill (2019), SME Development Bill (2019), National Corporate Social Responsibility Bill (2019), Local Content Bill (2019), Affirmative Action Bill (2019), Disability Bill (2019) and Social Protection Bill (2019).

The meeting will also follow up on 15 Bills that are already before the various committees of Parliament.

Two Bills, Companies Bill (2018) and the Chartered Institute of Bankers (Ghana) Bill (2018) shall be read a second time at the plenary.

It is highly unlikely that the Right to Information Bill (2018) shall be considered and approved in this meeting.
